Napier,
the main city of the region, has one of the largest collections of Art Deco
buildings in the world. After a massive earthquake in 1931, Napier was rebuilt
in the Art Deco style, many by Louis Hay. Today Napiers Art Deco charm and
elegance has been preserved in its many structures history and regional
zeal.
